Flashbacks, multiple storylines, chronological order, and circular narrative structures are some of the options to develop your story when writing novels. And then there’s a handful of options to approach your plot development. What about point-of-view, emotional arcs, narrative arcs, motivations, and predicaments? How does culture influence both plot and characters? Having a roadmap of sorts to help support how each micro-decision impacts the story can be helpful. Guest speaker and award winning storyteller, Tope Folarin, will be walking us through the the importance of structuring narratives and how to connect the plethora of options in a way that doesn’t shut-down the writer, nor leave the reader lost.
