Local author Daniel McInerny has agreed to speak at the Annapolis Chapter meeting of the Maryland Writers’ Association for November, 2013. This talk will consider the self-publishing phenomenon (with an emphasis either upon his children’s and adult fiction), writing high comedy in an age of irony, and children’s literature. His talk will be on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. in room 205 at the Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts.
The meeting is open to the public and free to MWA members and first-time guests. All others may pay $5.00. Annual dues to MWA are $40.00 and include other benefits on top of monthly attendance. MWA meetings meet the third Wednesday of every month at 6:30pm in room 205 at Maryland Hall. Maryland Hall is located at 801 Chase Street, Annapolis, MD 21401. Daniel McInerny is an author of fiction for both children and adults. In 2011 he launched a children’s entertainment company, Trojan Tub Entertainment, which features his humorous Kingdom of Patria series for middle grade readers.
He’s a native of South Bend, Indiana, and hold a degree in English from the University of Notre Dame, and a PhD in philosophy from The Catholic University of America. After finishing his PhD, heI spent 17 years in academia, teaching and working at various universities in the United States. Throughout those years his love of literature and storytelling played a big part in his teaching and research. He lives with his wife Amy in Virginia with their three children.
